Jefferson County Sheriff's Office | Somebody's screaming

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 320 calls for service between Friday, March 31 and Friday, April 7. Below are selected reports.

At 10:26 a.m. Sunday, April 2 in Quilcene, a caller reported hearing someone screaming near the location where a tree rescue had been done the week before.

The caller thought someone was having a mental health issue.

A deputy checked the area and nothing unusual was heard.

A neighbor who was contacted reported hearing yelling, but it was from the person who had initially called law enforcement.

At 1:48 p.m. Sunday, April 2 in Port Hadlock, a property owner wanted information about getting a standby from law enforcement officers, and also information about obtaining a protection order, because her renters were moving out.

She said she hopes the move “goes seamless” but would like deputies close by if it doesn’t.

At 8:18 a.m. Monday, April 3 in Nordland, a man said he was called by someone who threatened “to leave a bullet in his head.”

The man just wanted to talk to a deputy; he did not want to press charges and was not afraid of the person who made the threat.

A deputy suggested the man obtain a no-contact order from the court, and the man said he would think about it.
