The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 233 calls for service between Friday, Feb. 17 and Friday, Feb. 24. Below are selected reports.

At 3:26 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Port Hadlock, a person from a local business said someone had been depositing fraudulent checks using the business’ name that were counterfeit.

The suspect had been making mobile deposits with the bogus checks.

The person said the bank was handling the situation and was “making it right” for the business.

At 9:04 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Port Hadlock, a woman said she was being harassed by her brother, who was teaming up with her ex.

The brother had mailed her sex toys.

Her brother also said that her ex may be coming back to Washington from Texas.

She wanted the harassment documented. She also said her brother was a drunk and she will consider getting a protection order against him. For the time being, she stated she will block him on social media and not take his calls.

At 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 in Brinnon, a woman reported the theft of game cameras from her property.

At 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22 in Port Townsend, a burglary was reported. Someone had taken things from a motorhome that was the scene of a recent stabbing.

The woman did not know what was taken, but said it happened overnight. She was advised to take valuables out of the motorhome and make sure it was locked.

The resident of the motorhome was currently in jail and was not able to help determine what was missing.

At 1:40 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 in Port Hadlock, an animal bite was reported at the B&R Mobile Home court.

A woman said a dog had attacked her and her son, as well as her father.

The dog was owned by her father. She reported injuries on her legs and hands.

The father, who lived in another trailer in the park, may have left with the dog.

The woman, 40, said she was in a bedroom with her 16-year-old son and she was afraid to come out because the dog might still be outside.

The dog was described as a Belgian Malinois mix. The woman said she didn’t think the dog was up to date with its shots. She said the attack was unprovoked, and said she had been having a heated argument at the time.

The mother and her son were treated by an aid crew.

The father was contacted and found to have a bloody hand, but he declined aid.

Animal control was contacted. The daughter did not want to go forward with any charges, and said the dog was the only thing her mom has.

She was given a card and advised to call authorities if she changed her mind.
