The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 312 requests for service between Friday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan. 27. Below are selected reports.

At 11:57 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 in Port Ludlow, a person reported seeing a garage door ajar at a home in the neighborhood.

A deputy checked the residence and determined the garage door had been left slightly open, and it was likely left open by mistake.

A deputy secured the home.

At 11:11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 in Port Ludlow, someone broke the lock on a construction trailer on South Bay Lane and took items from inside the trailer.

Several Milwaukee tools were reported stolen.

At 12:41 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 in Quilcene, a caller reported that someone had entered a shipping container by cutting off the lock.

It was not known when the break-in occurred, but nothing appeared to be missing.

Extra patrols in the area were requested.

At 4:29 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported a burglary. A house had been broken into and ransacked.

The resident had just returned home from traveling and found the back door had been broken open. 

Multiple items were stolen, including firearms, jewelry, and motorcycle riding gear.
