Jefferson County Sheriff's Log | Some kind of Joker

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 230 calls for service between Saturday, June 4 and Friday, June 10. Below are selected reports.

At 5:24 p.m. Thursday, June 9 in Port Hadlock, a customer at a business said he had been harassed.

The man said a customer had pulled in and started laughing at him, then flipped him off.

The man said the harasser “was laughing like the Joker.”

The harasser spun his vehicle tires as he left. A deputy met with the victim, and he said the suspect was clean-shaven but had “tweaker eyes.”

At 12:43 p.m. Friday, June 9 in Quilcene, a resident said a phone had been taken two days ago but the caller had been tracking it.

The phone was now at another student’s house.

A deputy contacted the suspect, who denied taking the phone from the victim but did admit taking the phone of another student.

At 3:56 p.m. Friday, June 9 in Port Hadlock, a woman said another woman ripped out her hair, punched her, kicked her, and threw her to the ground.

The victim said the woman showed up intoxicated and would not leave the property and attempted to get physical with the victim, who is disabled.

A deputy met with the caller, who had several abrasions on her face along her jawline. She also smelled of intoxicants. The victim claimed she was being belittled by the other person, and another man had helped instigate the confrontation.

A deputy contacted the other party, and she admitted to being in the scuffle. She told the deputy the other woman had come over while drunk and started causing problems. Witnesses said it was the caller who had swung first at the other woman.

The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
