The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 369 calls for service between Saturday, March 18 through Friday, March 24. Below are selected reports.

At 8:10 a.m. Friday, March 24 in Sequim, a caller reported being duped by someone who claimed to be an employee of Ticketmaster.

The victim gave the bogus employee information about an email account, a phone number, and the last four numbers of a credit card.

The scammer asked the person to buy gift cards by using debit and credit cards, and the person was cheated out of $2,850.

At 11:09 a.m. Friday, March 24 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported the theft of a gas can.

The gas can had been left on the front porch and was stolen at 3 a.m. A neighbor was a witness to the theft.

The caller said the gas can was new from Walmart, but was small and only had a little bit of petrol in it.

At 4:21 p.m. Friday, March 24 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported an unwanted person.

A transient was living in a tent on the property, and the caller said garbage was creating a health hazard.

The caller said the camping had been a problem in the past, with the other person claiming to be on his own side of the property line.

The caller said a survey would be done and a fence would be installed afterward.

The resident promised to talk to the other property owner before the fence went up.
