Jefferson County Sheriff's Log | Gone to pot

Posted

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 360 calls for service between Friday, March 3 and Friday, March 10. Below are selected reports.

At 3:47 p.m. Monday, March 6 in Quilcene, a caller reported three suspicious cars that were at the end of Rodgers Street.

One of the vehicles looked similar to one seen at a Saturday incident where gas had been siphoned.

The caller said all three vehicles had come down the street at a high rate of speed before stopping to park. The caller believed there were kids in the vehicles, and probably smoking pot after school got out.

A deputy responded and was told the vehicle had left the scene 35 to 40 minutes earlier.

They were last seen headed toward Brinnon.

At 11:46 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 at Tarboo Lake, a timber theft and vandalism was reported.

The caller said boughs from 75 to 100 cedar trees had been removed sometime between November and December.

The investigation is continuing.

At 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, March 7 in Port Ludlow, a woman reported a case of fraud. Her husband had been scammed and had given a caller their Social Security and credit card numbers.

The caller said the credit cards had been canceled.
