Jefferson County Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour broke her leg after an unfortunate spill at a neighbor’s home Sunday.
Eisenhour dialed into Monday’s commissioner’s meeting from a couch at home, sporting a splint on one leg.
“When we said, break a leg in your new job, we didn’t mean literally,” joked County Commissioner Kate Dean before the start of Monday’s morning session.
Eisenhour called her mishap a “classic slip,” and said the accident happened Sunday on her neighbor’s front porch.
The end result was a fractured fibula, she said.
Dean offered to have Eisenhour’s county paperwork delivered to her home.
“Heal up. Glad you’re at home and on the couch,” Dean told her before the start of the meeting.
