I would like to thank Leader publisher Lloyd Mullen for the lovely page in the recent Working Waterfront dedicated to SEA Marine’s “Shop Dog Bear.”
In an ironic twist of timing, The Leader was planning to print an article in Working Waterfront about Bear and Pumpkin, SEA Marine’s resident dogs, who were not included in the Shop Dogs article in the previous issue. I had to contact Lloyd to stop the presses and inform him of Bear’s unexpected death. I sent some brief sentiments and Bear’s dad, Chris Bakken, sent some photos.
All of us who loved Bear were touched by the tribute and appreciate Lloyd’s thoughtful generosity.
