Jefferson County officials have announced that its household hazardous waste facility will no longer be open on the first Saturday of each month.
The change was prompted by low customer demand for the Saturday service, according to the Jefferson County Department of Public Works.
The last day for Saturday operations was Aug, 6.
The facility, located in the Port of Port Townsend Boathaven at 282 10th St., Building 19, will continue to operate from 10 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays.
Large loads, drummed wastes, and eligible business hazardous wastes are accepted by appointment at 360-379-6911 or 360-385-9160.
