Every year local photography enthusiasts submits their best photos to First Fed’s Proudly PNW photo contest. This year’s contest is now open for submissions! Any photos that showcase the life and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest are welcome.

Along with prizes of up to $300, the winners of the photo contest will be showcased in First Fed’s Proudly PNW 2023 Calendar. This year is particularly special, as the calendar will be First Fed’s 100th-anniversary edition. In addition to the PNW-themed categories, a new category has been added for historic First Fed photos that show past events, branches, team members, or branded swag.

“We are so excited to be celebrating 100 years in 2023,” said Jen Swanson, community engagement manager for First Fed. “First Fed has a long history of participating in community events and organizations. We would love to see any photos people may have taken of us throughout the years.”

The categories for the contest are:

  • Animals: We love seeing animals in nature.
  • Forest: Trees in national, state, or local parks.
  • Home or hometown: Share photos of favorite spots or skylines of your hometown.
  • Mountains: Majestic mountain peaks, any time of year.
  • Sky: Sunrises, sunsets, stars, lightning storms.
  • Stone: Natural rock formations, rocky beaches.
  • Water: Sound, rivers, ocean, boats.
  • BONUS: Historic First Fed: Help us celebrate our 100th anniversary by sharing photos of First Fed team members, branches, event sponsorships, or swag.

“In reviewing the photo submissions each year, we are amazed by the number of talented photographers we have in our communities,” said Karen Lewis, director of marketing at First Fed. “Last year we had over 1200 entries. Narrowing them down to the winners was both a delight and a challenge.”

The Grand Prize winner receives $300 and the prestigious cover of First Fed’s 100th-anniversary calendar. Twelve additional winners will receive $100 and have their photos featured on a month in the calendar.

There will also be a fan favorite winner based on community online voting. The fan favorite winner receives both $100 and a gift basket featuring local businesses (valued at $100). And because of the high number of quality photographs submitted in the past years, 16 additional photos will be selected as runners-up and receive a $50 prize.

Whether or not you enter the contest, you are still invited to vote for your fan favorite photo. To view the current entries or submit your own photo, visit the photo contest webpage here:      https://ourfirstfed.lndg.page/Qtf90K
