A west/northwest wind of 7 to 17 mph, increasing to 27 to 37 mph in the evening, is forecast for Port Townsend.
Winds could gust as high as 48 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management has issued an advisory noting that gusts of up to 55 mph can be expected, with the strongest wind speeds in the Port Townsend area between 9 and 11 p.m.
According to the Department of Emergency Management, wind will begin to taper off around midnight, but it may remain gusty until early Saturday morning.
