Golden Shoals and The Lowest Pair at Grey Coast Guildhall

Posted by sweaterweatherstring

Grey Coast Guildhall hosts an evening of outstanding Americana.

Golden Shoals are Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski, hailing from Nashvill and Vancouver, BC. Initially brought together by a mutual love of American folk music,  their sound has expanded to include country, Americana, Indie and Experimental influences, allowing them to move more freely beyond genre boundaries with their songwriting while still emanating a deep understanding of Old-Time and Bluegrass music.

Joining the lineup is The Lowest Pair, a banjo duo formed by Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee. Coming together by chance on the banks of the Mississippi, Winter and Lee embarked on a musical journey that has taken them across North America and the UK. With five albums to their name, The Lowest Pair continues to push creative boundaries, exploring new depths in their songwriting and captivating audiences with their powerful performances. Expect an enchanting blend of poetic storytelling and masterful musicianship from this dynamic duo.

Local party-folk animals Sweater Weather Stringband open. Best known for their energetic live shows, this event will see them exploring a more subdued sound, with a smaller lineup, pared-down arrangements of their existing repertoire, and lots of exciting new songs.
