The Fort Worden Public Development Authority will start holding its mid-month board of director workshops on the second Tuesday of the month, the PDA has announced.
The first of the meetings is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday,
May 13.
David Timmons, executive director of the PDA, said the extra meetings are needed to discuss issues in a more detailed way than can be accomplished during the board’s regular business meeting.
Some of the topics to be talked about include financial reporting, capital strategy and government relations, the PDA’s business plan, and the authority’s relations with its partners.
“I’d like to be able to bring in those kinds of subjects to help the board better understand what exactly we’re doing,” Timmons said. “We’re not having enough time during these (monthly board) meetings to go through and explain these issues and as effectively as I wish.”
Board Chair David King said the board hasn’t had much of a chance to delve into details on specific subjects.
“I think this would be a good way to go, to schedule these things and make them available so we can work through some of these issues,” King said.
People can attend the hybrid meetings in-person or online through Zoom.
