Forgaging for Friendly Fungi - An Introduction to Mushroom Hunting & Gathering

Posted by CSharpie

Prime mushroom season in the Pacific Northwest starts in the early spring and runs through late fall. Since foraging is a hobby of many in our area, Sunrise Coffee Co invited Corinne Gregory Sharpe to speak about local edible mushrooms. In addition to being a Master Forager, Corinne is also known as “The Shipboard Chef,” and she travels around the globe working as a chef onboard boats, yachts, and various other vessels.

Last year, she published her first cookbook, and in January started a cooking show.

Now that foraging season is here, Corinne will offer online classes on mushrooming and lead private groups on foraging adventures. She has even
trained her dog to find truffles. Corinne has appeared on The Today Show and Good Morning America.

Attendees will receive a raffle ticket upon arriving for a drawing where the winning prize is Corinne's complete class "Nature's Kitchen" which covers a full year of foraging wild foods in our area. Value is $247 and attendees will receive an extra ticket if they invite a guest to join them.

Corinne will also be selling and autographing copies of her book "Cruising with the ShipboardChef: Big Flavors from Small Spaces."
