Five new COVID-19 infections found in Port Townsend

Jefferson County public health officials said five new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Thursday in Port Townsend.

The additional infections pushed the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Jefferson County to 460 Thursday.

Four of the new cases involved males, and the other case was a female, according to Jefferson County Public Health.

Three of the new infections were found in tests of residents 19 or younger; the other two cases involved residents in their 30s.

Ten residents were still in isolation Wednesday due to potential COVID-19 contact.

Test results are pending for another 10 residents.

There have been 25,908 tests for COVID-19 in Jefferson County since the start of the pandemic, and 25,438 have resulted in negative results.

In Jefferson County, 432 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 32 people have been hospitalized for the disease. Four deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19.
