Fifteen members of the Discovery Bay Women’s Golf Club opened up their 2022 season Thursday, April 7 with game of the week, “Criers and Whiners.”
The rules of the game are that each player may use the number of mulligans equal to half of her course handicap line.
Top players from the “Criers and Whiners” event were Starla Audette in first place, a tie for second place between Cindy Breed and Jane Guiltinan, and Lynn Pierle in third. Early in the season, the ladies found the course a bit wet in some places, but the greens were in good shape and played fast.
The women’s club plays nine-hole competitions on Tuesdays, meeting at 9 a.m. to organize the game of the week and teeing off at 9:30 a.m.
Eighteen-hole competitors play on Thursdays, gathering at 9:30 a.m. and teeing off at 10 in April. During May, the tee time for Thursdays will be at 9 a.m. (gathering beforehand at 8:30 a.m.).
Club captain Guiltinan and the entire Discovery Bay Women’s Golf Club welcomes new players to join them.
People seeking more information about the club can contact Guiltinan at 206-473-0909 or the golf course’s pro shop at 360-385-0704.
