Jefferson County health officials reported 17 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 over the weekend.
The new cases pushed the total number of coronavirus infections in Jefferson County from 668 on Friday to 685 on Monday.
Of the 17 new cases, positive COVID test results were reported across the county; six in Port Townsend, seven in the mid-county area, and four in south county.
The new cases involved 10 males and seven females.
The infections spanned a wide number of age groups. One resident under the age of 12 tested positive, as did three residents in their 20s, one resident in their 30s, five in their 40s, one in their 50s, five in their 60s, and one over the age of 80.
A total of 41 residents were still in isolation Monday due to potential COVID-19 contact. New test results from 328 residents were received Monday from over the weekend.
In Jefferson County, 535 people have recovered from COVID-19 and 44 people have been hospitalized for the disease. (People are considered “recovered” at 28 days from the onset of symptoms if they are alive and not hospitalized, according to the state Department of Health.)
Four deaths of Jefferson County residents have been linked to COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
