City of Port Townsend calls for LTAC grant applications

Posted

The city of Port Townsend’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is inviting proposals for funding committee-related activities.

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will review proposals for funding with the goal of awarding grants totaling $20,000 that will be split between fall and spring cycles.

The city anticipates that funding requests for new projects or initiatives will be between $1,000 and $10,000 each cycle.

Applications can be submitted at Port Townsend City Hall or through the online application portal at cityofpt.us/bc/page/lodging-tax-advisory-committee.

Applications close Monday, May 8, and will be considered at a special meeting of the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee scheduled for Friday,
May 12.

“I’m excited that LTAC is looking to be more community-facing in helping generate creative new ideas for how our community invests our lodging tax funds,” said Port Townsend Mayor David Faber, who also chairs the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. “By working together more closely with the community, we’re seeking to deliver tourism-related outcomes that line up with our community values.”

“This new program exemplifies their good work and their service – and provides an exciting new opportunity for our creative community. I’m looking forward to seeing and reviewing applications next month,” Faber added.
