Chimacum clinic offers COVID-19 vaccinations

Posted

Another mass vaccination clinic will be held in Chimacum later this month.

Jefferson County Public Health and the Department of Emergency Management will host the appointment-only vaccination event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17 in the Chimacum School District’s Multi-Purpose Room.

Second doses will only be given in the morning during the clinic, with first doses being given during the afternoon time slots.

All people 16 or older are eligible for shots.

Vaccinations will also be given to people 16 years or older with two or more co-morbidities or underlying conditions, and people, staff and volunteers in certain congregate living settings (correctional facilities; groups homes for people with disabilities; and settings where people experiencing homelessness live or access services).

Appointments will also be accepted for high-risk critical workers in certain congregate settings (restaurants, food services, construction and manufacturing).

Anyone who was eligible in earlier vaccine phases can also schedule an appointment.  County officials said the clinic will be giving shots with the Moderna vaccine.

To schedule an appointment, go to bit.ly/jeffcovax . For those who do not have access to a computer, call 360-344-9791 to make an appointment.

The Chimacum School District’s Multi-Purpose Room is located at 91 West Valley Road.
