I finally got my new laptop battery today. It's been over a month and a half since I've been able to use (one of) my prized possessions, a result of my own laziness and procrastination that caused me to not order the $15 part until last week. But now it's here! What to do first on my behemoth machine was a tough question to answer. I have hundreds of hi-definition comic books, seven days plus of music, and more video games than a spoiled rich fourteen year old boy.

Making up for lost time, I had to make sure and take full advantage of it. I did this by expanding my knowledge with the wealth of information at my fingertips, all on the amazing library I like to call "the internet"

Up first, I found a 42 second clip of all the fights on the first season of a reality tv show many are comparing to The Godfather: Jersey Shore. If you don't like seeing annoying drunk girls getting punched don't click on the link:

It's not that I support that at all, mind you. But apparently it was a big deal when it happened. I heard the dude was a drunken gym teacher from Florida or something. What an a-hole, I'm sure it did wonders for his image back in the teacher's lounge. Who am I kidding this guy is obviously a massive douche.

Next I found another reason to cry: a clip of University of Seattle basketball player Charles Garcia, who, up until right before the season began, was going to be teaming up with Quincy Pondexter and Isaiah Thomas to form a formidable trio on the Huskies. Instead the University of Washington didn't admit him to the school and he ended up going across the city and playing for the Redhawks instead. Think they could use him at this very disappointing point in the season? According to the next two links: most definitely YES.

What else is there? Not much I guess.

I went to LA a few weeks ago and went to the Lakers/Bucks game at the Staples Center. My female friend that I was there with spent the bulk of her time searching for celebrities. Around halfway through the first quarter she spotted who may have been Morgan Freeman, which was exciting for a while. Then at halftime he stood up to go talk to a player and we realized he wasn't Morgan Freeman, which was disappointing. But his friend was Denzel Washington, which was pretty cool. It took me a second to realize it after watching Brandon Jennings (the player from the Bucks) look so excited to meet the dude who looked like Morgan Freeman, but kept shaking the hand of the other dude (who was Denzel).

We also saw Rick Springfield (a personal favorite, I listened to his records a lot when I was seven), the dog whisperer, the happy guy from American Idol, Ryan Seacrest, Diane Cannon, the dude who always sits next to Jack Nicholson, and.........Jack Nicholson, at least it looked like him, sitting in his normal seat. I think that Larry David guy was there too, which I really didn't give a shit about because I hate Seinfeld. But Curb Your Enthusiasm is apparently good, but so was Seinfeld (more on him later).

My buddies Mike, Hawk, and I made it to the MLK Hoopfest this past Monday and saw some amazing high school basketball action. The best player there was clearly Terrence Jones of Jefferson High in Portland. UW wants him badly, and I can see why. He made the best team in the State of Washington (Federal Way) look helpless, swatting every shot in sight, scoring at will, and handing out some of the best passes you'll see out of a 6-9 guard in the country right now (ok I don't think there's very many 6-9 guards in the country anyways, but hey).

Speaking of Seinfeld, when Mike and I were on our way to Seattle we listened to The History of Howard Stern, a show where they discuss old news on his show. The subject of the day was when Jerry was in his late 30's and dating a 17-year old, this girl: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/Shoshanna_Lonstein_Gruss_and_Jerry_Seinfeld_at_the_1995_Emmy_Awards.jpg

Howard grilled him unmercifully, which was awesome, I loved hearing him deny it at first and being a total dick about it. Great stuff.

On the video game front we did play a lot of Fifa 10 while in Seattle hanging at HPHQ, which is what we call the home of Seattle/Port Townsend punk band The Hollowpoints, my usual crash site. I ended up buying Fifa on Amazon within an hour of getting home. It is due to arrive tomorrow or the next day. I will be playing it a lot to say the least.

Tomorrow the PT boys play Sequim at home, if I wake up on time I will surely be attending. Unfortunately I have only made it to one game this year, the loss to Vashon at home. Let's hope amazingly good vibes will bring them wins for the rest of the season.
