Things will be looking a bit spotty in Brinnon this weekend.

The 2022 Brinnon Shrimp Festival will be held Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 during the Memorial Day weekend.

The family-friendly event showcases Hood Canal Spot Shrimp and other local seafood, and lures hungry shrimpers from all over Pacific Northwest to fish Hood Canal’s rich waters.

Festival-goers will find plenty of activities for all ages, individuals, and families, including rides, activities, crafts, food booths, a beer/wine garden — and lots of shrimp.

There will be booths of artisans and craftspeople showcasing and selling their unique wares. Entertainment includes live bluegrass music, funky rock, folk-rock and good old rock-and-roll.

The Hood Canal tides are usually low enough during this weekend for the easy harvest of clams and oysters on the public beaches near the festival (license required), and festival organizers note the weather is traditionally good in Brinnon on Memorial Day weekend.

The Brinnon Shrimp Festival began in 1993. Over the years, the proceeds have benefited the community through donations to the Brinnon School and the Brinnon Volunteer Ambulance & Firefighters Association, Brinnon and Quilcene community centers, as well as many other community projects.
