The city of Port Townsend is now accepting applications for its new poet laureate position.
Unanimously approved by the Port Townsend City Council in March, the city seeks to appoint a poet laureate for an initial one-year term to serve in ceremonial, educational, and inspirational ways in honoring Port Townsend’s active creative community, promoting the city’s robust literary arts and celebrating the written word, according to city staff.
