Another Jefferson County resident has died of COVID-19 — the second in the past week — according to Jefferson County Public Health.
Health officials said the death reported Thursday afternoon involved an unvaccinated woman who was in her 80s.
The woman had chronic medical conditions, according to health officials.
A total of 75 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Jefferson County Thursday.
The new cases put the total number of coronavirus cases at 1,955.
Health officials also said there were 289 active cases of people in isolation, with four residents currently hospitalized.
