ACCLAIMED ACOUSTIC GUITARIST CLAUDE BOURBON RETURNS TO CONCERTS IN THE WOODS

Posted by jmckinstry1

Claude Bourbon, internationally acclaimed virtuoso guitarist, will return to play one matinee show at Concerts in the Woods in Coyle on Sunday, April 30th at 3 p.m.

Bourbon’s musical style has been known to defy description, an oddly seamless combination of Spanish and Middle Eastern acoustic stylings with rough-around-the-edges American Blues. The musical contrasts keep the music interesting, but his audiences focus more on Bourbon’s actual playing. His fingers fly over the fretboard, moving deftly through first-rate improvisations on Delta blues and Pink Floyd songs, well-respected classical pieces, and his own compositions.

Born in France and raised in Switzerland, Bourbon was classically trained on his instrument but has spent his musical life learning as much as he can about folk, blues, jazz, and rock as he has toured the world. Now based in the U.K., he will spend the next six weeks touring the U.S. and Canada before heading back to Europe for a summer tour in July.
Bourbon’s most recent CD, “Home Cooked,” was released in 2020, and will be available for sale at the venue.
