7th Haven project to receive $142k grant

Posted

One of Jefferson County’s affordable housing projects, 7th Haven, is set to receive a major boost in its coffers thanks to state infrastructure grants provided by the Washington State Department of Commerce.

The Connecting Housing to Infrastructure Program, better known as CHIP, grants from the state will benefit a host of affordable housing developments around Washington, with nearly $5 million going out to 12 different projects across the state.

Jefferson County is set to receive $142,583 for the 43 affordable units within the ongoing 7th Haven housing development, which is currently being constructed near Hendricks and Seventh streets in Port Townsend.

The state grant funds can be used by local governments for water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure costs and waived connection fees for projects with affordable housing.
