Port Townsend’s 4-H Robotics Team 4918, or “The Roboctopi” have qualified for the Pacific Northwest FIRST Robotics District Championship in Cheney.
FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, and the organization operates FIRST robotics competitions internationally.
After impressing at Bonney Lake and Auburn FIRST Robotics competitions, the local team earned the 48th qualifying spot for the district championships event in Cheney from
April 6 to April 8, where they’ll face the top 50 teams in the Pacific Northwest.
