The Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee has 1 upcoming vacancy for a committee member position (District 2, Chair). The MRC is focused on protecting and restoring the marine and estuarine environment within Jefferson County. If you have a background in marine science, or are involved in areas related to ports, marinas, commercial fishing, or shoreline development and/or planning, and are keen to take an active role in: · Learning about marine conservation · Participating in science-based research and educational outreach · Contributing to policy recommendations Please consider joining our Committee! Members are appointed to a four-year term (2024-2028), and commit to: · Attending monthly meetings, the first Tuesday of every month, in-person in Port Hadlock, from 6pm-8pm. · Volunteering with a minimum of one MRC project, and committing time to education and outreach events throughout the year.
