East Jefferson battled Bainbridge in varsity wrestling Saturday and the two teams finished even, with five wins on each side.
For East Jeff, Savanna Hoffman won by a pin in the 120-pound class.
Lily Delgado also won by pin, coming back from a deficit to score a victory in the 125-pound class.
In the 170-pound matchup, Logan Massie won by tech fall 16-1.
Kyle Caldwell won by a pin against his Bainbridge opponent in the 195-pound class, and East Jeff teammate
Ike Banks was 1-1 and won his second match by a pin in the 138-pound class.
“So far, we are off to a great start,” said East Jefferson Coach Steve Grimm. “Our team is wrestling amazing and everyone seems to have a positive attitude and good work ethic.”
“Our new wrestlers have been a great surprise, the have found early success so far winning matches. Logan and Kyle are both state champion caliber wrestlers and are showing it,” he added.
