Wilma Margaret (Cunningham) Martin, 89, passed away at home July 13, 2021 in her beloved state of California.
Wilma was born Dec. 4, 1931 in Port Townsend, Washington to William Harry (Bill) Cunningham and Margaret Belle (Jones) Cunningham.
She was a majorette for the Port Townsend Marching Band and graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1949.
Wilma married Howard John DeGrasse July 1, 1950. She was also married to Robert Howard (Bob) Hinton. She found the love of her life when she married Robert (Bob) Martin. They were married on St. Patrick’s Day, 1974.
Wilma was the proud mother to three daughters: Renee Margaret (DeGrasse) Wade (Stuart), Yvonne Wilma (DeGrasse) Craig (Ron), and Colleen Michelle Hinton (Gary). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Ty and Ian Wade, Justin, Cody and Taylor Craig and Alycia Khile (Myers); step-children Jim Martin, Teresa (Martin) Franett and Mike Martin; along with two step-grandchildren, Lily and Lucy Martin.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret, her beloved brother Jack Cunningham, and Robert (Bob) Martin.
She will be remembered as the petite redhead who loved to dance and for driving her convertible in many Rhody Parades.
Due to covid concerns a celebration of life will be held at the Elks at 1 p.m. March 26, 2022.
