William "Bill" Erickson passed away in Port Townsend, Washington on May 13th, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born in June of 1934 in Pittsburg, California. During the Korean war, Bill enlisted in the US Navy and after completion of basic training, was assigned to the USS Hamner (DD-718). He was Honorably discharged in 1955. Shortly after, in December of 1956, he met, then married his wife of 67 years, Betty Miller. Bill retired from the Brentwood, California Police Department as an officer in 1982 and moved with Betty and their two daughters to Port Townsend. He worked at Indian Island as head of security for several years then retired for a second time and joined the Port Townsend Police Department as a Volunteer. He was also a Freemason and member of the Port Townsend Masonic Lodge. Bill loved being around family and enjoyed the outdoors, scuba diving, camping, fishing and crabbing.
Bill is survived by his wife Betty and their two daughters Sherry Erickson, married to Mark Peil and Kae Lombardy, married to Tony Lombardy. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
