In her counterpoint opposing Indivisible, Lisa Farr as a member of the local republicans said George Soros “often backs groups like Indivisible.” Is this solid evidence of sneaky funding of Indivisible? It’s like when Trump says for evidence, “people are saying” or “Putin told me.” I’ve been to most meetings of the local Indivisible group since it was started just after Trump’s first election. I’ve seen the money come in — donations of a dollar or two, or $5, maybe $10 into a jar marked “Donations” used to cover the rent of the hall where we meet. That is getting more expensive as we have had to rent a bigger space — last meeting had 200 people. Wow, sometimes there is enough surplus in the jar for us to buy a banner or print some handouts. Where is that big check from George Soros?
So it’s not okay for a liberal with money to help groups he or she supports but it is okay for Elon Musk (immigrant) to buy elections, fund other right wing causes and profit mightily from government contracts?
Also in the letters Leo Boyd suggested individuals in ICE detention in Tacoma or now in a concentration camp in El Salvador are “perhaps” illegal aliens or “perhaps” have broken laws and that seems okay for him. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? Not incidentally, President Trump did break laws, was given a full trial and has 34 felony convictions. And “perhaps” he is committing crimes when he contradicts the Constitution, ignores the right of Congress to create and fund agencies and defies court orders.
