Seattle Christian forged a five-set win in girls varsity volleyball late last week against the Rivals at Port Townsend High School.
East Jefferson prevailed 25-21 in the first set before the Warriors rebounded with a second set win, 25-19.
The momentum continued to go Seattle Christian’s way as the girls won the third set, 25-17.
The Rivals earned a 25-17 fourth set win, but Seattle Christian clung on for a 15-8 win in the fifth.
The Rivals brought a total team effort to the matchup.
Jessi Hawley had an ace and a block for EJ, while Alyssa Vandenberg contributed two aces, two kills, and five blocks.
Akira Anderson finished with three aces and five kills, and Ellise Gardner had five aces, two kills, and a block.
Sophie Patterson contributed two kills and a block, while Macy Aumock had two kills and an ace. Lily Morrison also had an ace for the Rivals.
In junior varsity action, the Warriors pulled out a 2-1 victory.
Seattle Christian won the first set 25-13.
East Jefferson matched the effort with a 25-13 finish in the second set, but Seattle Christian sealed the deal 15-7 in the third.
