June 15, 1953 - August 23, 2023
Victoria Feitner McKinnon, 70, of Port Townsend, passed peacefully on Aug. 23, 2023 after a heroic fight against cancer.
Victoria was born June 15, 1953, in Long Island, NY, and is the daughter of the late Quentin and Judith Feitner. Although she was born on the east coast and always carried a bit of that in her personality, Victoria was drawn west to Montana where she attended University of Montana in Missoula. She achieved a BA in Elementary and Special Education before relocating to the Port Townsend area in 1975.
During her time in Port Townsend, Victoria owned Waterfront Naturals on Water Street, was a guardian ad litem for children in the Jefferson County courts, and served as a mediator and respite foster parent for Child Protective Services and Kitsap Mental Health Services.
She spent time volunteering for the Port Townsend Food Bank, served on multiple boards within Port Townsend, and took an active role in mentoring young women in the Jefferson County jail. Her greatest joys in life included helping others, gardening, music, fashion, her two children, and most recently, her grandchildren.
Victoria is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Feitner Thomas, and her two grandchildren, Emerson Feitner Thomas and Sawyer Scott Thomas. She was preceded by her brother, Quentin Field Feitner III, and this past February, her son Seamus Paco Sims.
Victoria will be remembered for her quick wit, spitfire love, infectious laugh, and deep care and curiosity for humanity. She was truly one of a kind.
A celebration of Victoria’s life will take place next summer in her place of solace, Flathead Lake, Montana.
Memorial contributions and donations in honor of Victoria may be sent to Fred Hutch Cancer Center for their continued research and fight against cancer.
