Port of Port Townsend commissioners unanimously approved updates to the Port’s Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements at a recent meeting.
The updated plan — which includes an estimated $9.2 million worth of improvement projects — was needed in order for the Port to remain eligible for grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office.
Included on the list of projects the port intends to complete in the next 20 years include work yard and boat yard resurfacing; stormwater treatment system rehabilitation; fixing a sinking portion of Washington Street; parking lot pavement maintenance; work yard and boat yard electrical service rehabilitation; constructing a sandblast containment facility; constructing a Marine Trades Building; dredging the marina entrance and navigation channel; repairs to the main breakwater; linear dock renovations, commercial basin dock renovations; piling replacement and; linear dock electrical rehabilitation.
