Two additional cases of COVID-19 infections have been found in Jefferson County residents, officials with Jefferson County Public Health reported Friday afternoon.
The new cases were reported Oct. 9.
The two people infected with the coronavirus disease were both mid-county residents; both men are in their 60s.
The confirmation of an additional two infections increased the total number of coronavirus cases in Jefferson County from 75 on Monday to 77 on Friday.
A total of 9,053 patients have been tested for COVID-19; negative test results have been received in 8,920 of the cases.
Test results are still pending for 56 patients.
County health officials said 71 patients in Jefferson County have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.
No deaths in Jefferson County have been linked to the coronavirus.
So far, 38 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 30 in mid-county residents; and seven in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).
