The Friends of the East Jefferson Trails Connections are hosting the county’s public works director Eric Kuzma, for a talk on area trail projects at 9 a.m. on Oct. 9 at Finnriver Farm and Cidery in Chimacum.

Kuzma is slated to provide a brief presentation on an extension to the Larry Scott Trail, the construction status of the Olympic Discovery Trail segment from Milo Curry Road to Anderson Lake State Park, and an overview, and the status update, on the Tri-Area Transportation Network.

Kuzma traveled to Washington D.C. this summer along with co-recipients of the Puget Sound to Pacific 2023 RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) grant, hosted by the Rails to Trails Conservancy in Washington, D.C.

During the visit, Kuzma, along with Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe Transportation Planner Wendy Clark-Getzen, Puget Sound to Pacific Project Director Steve Durrant, Clallam County Assistant Public Works Director Steve Gray, and Hannah Boettcher, program coordinator for the city of Bainbridge Island’s Sustainable Transportation Program met with U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray’s staff.
