Total number of COVID-19 cases in Jefferson County climbs to 125

Two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been found in Jefferson County, officials with Jefferson County Public Health reported late Tuesday.

The new cases follow 11 that were announced Monday.

The total number of COVID cases in Jefferson County stood at 125 Wednesday morning.

The two infections reported Tuesday afternoon involved two Port Townsend men; one in his 50s, and the other, over 80 years old in age.

County health officials note that 85 patients in Jefferson County have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.

No deaths in the county have been linked to the coronavirus.

According to Jefferson County Public Health, a total of 11,966 patients have been tested for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 11,753 have tested negative.

Test results are still pending for 88 people.

Through Tuesday, 60 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 51 in mid-county residents; and 14 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).

Most of the confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jefferson County — 64 through Tuesday — have been found in men. Sixty-one women who live in the county have tested positive for COVID-19 through Nov. 17.
