A recent HuffPost story by Lee Moran noted a recent book in which Trump biographer Michael D’Antonio (Pulitzer Prize winner) turned one of Donald’s favorite insults — “loser” — against him. D’Antonio described Trump’s refusal to accept defeat in the 2020 election as “buffoonery” . . . He is a “profoundly incompetent person, a loser, if you might say,” he told a CNN news show. D’Antonio, who wrote the 2016 book "The Truth About Trump," said the president was “failing at this essential task” of admitting defeat and that “we all lose at various moments.”
Indeed. The ability to write large checks at opportune moments often is pawned off as synonymous with intelligence in short-sighted circles, but I tend to have more admiration for what’s been uncovered in the scientific world of reality in recent years.
For instance:
“A drug repeatedly and erroneously pushed by President Donald Trump earlier this year as a positive treatment for coronavirus has been linked to psychiatric disorders.
“Chloroquine and a related compound, hydroxychloroquine — which was heavily touted by Trump — were reviewed earlier this year by a medical agency of the European Union after notification from Spain’s drug authority of six cases of mental disturbances linked to coronavirus patients on high doses of the medicines. The European Medicines Agency revealed the latest concerns Friday [Nov. 27, see HuffPost] and has recommended that the product information for the medicines be updated to inform health care professionals of the psychiatric risks . . .”
Gives one pause.
Donald’s also a white supremacist, a misogynist, xenophobic racist, a cheat — and likely the world’s most-accomplished liar . . .
So figuring to be so popular and all (and ever up on the latest medications), he figures he’ll run down to Georgia and star in a big pep rally gathering — the sort of thing that is keeping the coronavirus alive . . . red “MAGA” caps instead of masks . . . a “super-spreader” of the pandemic that has infected more than 13 million and killed some 260,000 Americans during the past nine months — that Donald couldn’t control with lies and vague generalities. We’re hoping that the public, a public freed of its chains by mail ballots, will see to putting Donald on record as a LOSER once again — as he throws Georgia’s Republican governor and others under the bus at his convenience.
At stake in the interim are: a two-year term in a special election for one U.S. Senate position and a full six-year term in a runoff where both of the top two candidates also received less than 50 percent of the vote. For the unexpired term, Kelly Loeffler (the wealthiest member of Congress) is finishing her initial year as a Republican appointee and is opposed by the Rev. Dr. Raphael Warnock. In the other much-closer race former-journalist Jon Ossoff is challenging David Perdue, also a wealthy Republican incumbent. These contests will be on a Jan. 5 ballot.
Just in case, Donald will continue to sow doubt as a feckless substitution for admission of defeat — and already is bleating how both elections have been “rigged” against Republicans well ahead of Election Day.
Computer problems have put me out of touch since I posted my last blog Nov. 18. I’d like to urge any of you immigrants who manage to reach the test for U.S. citizenship — don’t expect a passing grade by following the belief of my main responder that the main branches of our government are the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Presidency.
Officially, the three branches of our government are THE LEGISLATIVE, THE EXECUTIVE and THE JUDICIAL. Democrats controlled just half of the legislative branch prior to the Nov. 3 election.
Judicially, the Supreme Court’s new conservative majority showed its muscle on Thanksgiving Eve, with Justice Amy Coney Barrett playing a key role in reversing the court’s past deference to local officials when weighing pandemic-related restrictions on religious organizations.
All three of Trump’s nominees to the court were in the 5-to-4 majority that blocked New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s restrictions on houses of worship in temporary hot spots where the coronavirus is raging. So Donald has managed to annul the separation of church and state — even if it involves the separation of life and death. However, I more may be heard on this and it may not be quite the same as yelling “fire” in crowded theater.
BULLETIN — A $3-million Trump-sponsored recount of the Wisconsin vote showed that 87 BIDEN voters were somehow missed along the way.

"and likely the world’s most-accomplished liar . . ." I have to disagree here, anyone who has lived with a pathological liar [A pathological liar is someone who lies compulsively. While there appears to be many possible causes for pathological lying, it's not yet entirely understood why someone would lie this way] knows it is a serious mental illness that cannot be controlled without medication. Anyone who has lived with a pathological liar understands that they often lie, when the truth would be better for them. A lot of our fellow citizens recognized this in Trump long before he became president. As with everything else in his life, he has no empathy, is narcissistic, and does not care what the truth is. This is a serious illness and should have been treated a long time ago with therapy & medication.
His followers have swallowed his lies because they don't recognize this illness.
Other than that I agree with what you wrote 100%.

I guess we can agree that he’s sick to a rather extreme degree. Donald, in any case, puts a lot of faith in lies. Dealing with the details and effects of truth appear to involve too much effort on his part. That all makes his sitting in the Oval Office doubly dangerous. But who’s going to bell the cat?
I’m trying to keep track of some of the related problems as they arise—but there is so much! Here are just a couple of the moment. Not much detail for now. I’ll just have to wait until after Jan. 20 and see how much Donald continues to insist that everyone else in the world is so inferior to him.

"people don't like him"..... Then how do you explain the 74M. citizens who voted for him. And this from the NYT, "he still won more votes than any incumbent president in American history". And according to "Rev" Warnock these citizens who supported Trump need to “repent” for their support of President Trump and their “worship of whiteness.”. The same guy who praised the Rev. Wright when he say's "God Damn America" These are the people you send money to Tom?
And if you are referring to me as one who said " the main branches of our government are the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Presidency", Please show us where I ever said that.

Hello, Justin. In the very beginning of the first comment to my last blog (“Hello, Georgia”), you said, “Tom spends the last four years railing against President Trump, calling him all manner of evil, a despot, tyrannical, a would-be dictator. And now he sends money out of state to help turn the Senate from R to D, which would give all three branches of the Federal government over to one-party rule. This is the working of a Partisan, not a Patriot.”
The U.S. Constitution created three branches of government—- executive, legislative and judicial. I referred to you as my “main responder” so as not to point out your ignorance by specific name. But since you asked with a somewhat belligerent overtone . . . In your honor I sent another token $25 donation to U.S.
representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) of New York.
Meanwhile we all know with the hurry-up treatment the Trump administration and McConnell Senate gave the judicial branch of government, the Supreme Court now is heavily weighted 6-3 conservative. And as I note above: “Judicially, the Supreme Court’s new conservative majority showed its muscle on Thanksgiving Eve, with Justice Amy Coney Barrett playing a key role in reversing the court’s past deference to local officials when weighing pandemic-related restrictions on religious organizations.”
My friends and family members in at least four states are strongly supporting the two U.S. Senate candidates in Georgia—providing more than lip service.

Gary N...... I don't know, I'm not a lawyer.
Tom, what I said there was not correct, at least not yet. You obviously support the Democrats taking over the US Senate, once they have the House, Senate, and Executive would you support them stacking the SCOTUS? If you say yes then my statement stands.
As for ACB supporting religious organizations, isn't freedom of/from religion one of our Constitutional rights? Hey, if people can go to Costco why not church? Take a drive-thru the Costco parking lot sometime, good luck finding a parking spot.

I do agree with President Trump that loyal Georgia Republicans should not vote in the coming Senate runoff. To participate in such a rigged system would show disloyalty to President Trump. He still insists votes don't count and asks for money to prove it. Send Trump all your money, mortgage your homes to show your support of the man. But stay home Georgia Republicans. Let God sort it out.

Yesterday I bought some stickers at Olympic office supply store across from the Rose, I have a Ket City fish market card, I shop at Henry's often, Quimper Merchantile, Westbay Auto, I have a membership at the co-op, although I don't know if that will last long after they censored my "F-CHINA" mask the other day, and I shop at QFC. My wife is the one who is hooked on Costco, I tried to break her of the habit to no avail. So yes M.S. I do shop locally as much as possible.
Gary N. try reading the news sometime, President Trump and V.P Pence are going to Georgia to campaign for Republican Senators.

Justin There: My news sources report President Trump is angry at the GOP Senators that did not stand up for him stronger against the election steal, including the Georgia pair. We will have to watch his rally. Let's see if he is there to sabotage their campaign by continuing to rant how he was victimized. Will he promote his own cause or theirs? Can he explain that voting is rigged but still ask people to vote? Should they vote in person and trust the Dominion machines counting the votes in Germany? Can they trust mailing their votes in along with all the dead people? He has built a weasel trap. Let's see who gets caught!

Meanwhile, as we all (generally speaking) take a costly break from Coronavirus concerns as the holidays approach—and go all egocentric along with the Trump crowd . . . Let’s not let Donald determine the nature of the day-to-day detours involved.
For instance, look up the headline “Donald Trump and Jared Kushner receive $3.65 million in PPP loan money intended for small businesses, report says.” https://news.yahoo.com/donald-trump-jared-kushner-receive-202010196.html
Too involved to discuss here, but the story begins: “Real estate properties owned by President Donald Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner received $3.65m of loan money through the Paycheck Protection Program . . .” and one line reads “further information from the program shows many other large corporations benefited, including ones owned by the president.”

So what is shopping local, just Port Townsend, can we include Port Hadlock, Chimacum, Port Ludlow, Quilcene, Discovery Bay, Brinnon, the West End. How about Clallam County? Olympic Peninsula?
I do shop in Port Townsend, mostly Safeway and Don's Pharmacy, occasionally, Quimper mercantile. In Hadlock, mostly Ferrino's and QFC. The Farmstand in Chimacum. I don't eat out anymore, well, I never ate out much before Covid, but I like eating out, just when you live so far from restaurants it's hard to go pick up something for dinner when it's dark at 4:00, (The dark months). I buy at Costco, they are a good company, hire local people, pay them a living wage, offer health insurance. I like to support that, I don't shop at Walmart, even though they hire locally, they pay so poorly that lot of their employees are on food stamps.
But back to Tom's blog. The Loser about says it all, except I would say poor loser. How does one have the gall to go to a state and tell it's Governor how to run it? Rallying for the Republican Senators, I get that. Keep gathering people for rally's, parties, when the pandemic is out of control? Collect money from his followers after the election is over? Give pardons to his family? Really, I wasn't aware they had been charged with any Federal crime yet. Although that could happen after their father is out of office. So I agree, it's time for Trump to leave the White House and hopefully never come back. (what a relief that will be)
