I like the way the rainbow above ends aboard the local ferry chugging to or from its berth . . . and the calm manner in which the local gull poses for the photo.

MEANWHILE, models predict that Earth will warm between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius in the next century. When global warming has happened at various times in the past two million years, it has taken the planet about 5,000 years to warm 5 degrees. The predicted rate of warming for the next century is at least 20 times faster.—from the Internet.

With the heat segment of climate change leading the way overall, by 2040, it is estimated that one in four children will be living in areas with extreme water shortages. Not all that far away, since we’re already in 2023. So I’ll be looking at our annual area snow pack around the end of March.

Even so, I was not going to bother with another blog for a week or so — until I took a second look at the few trite, overworked words posted by my persistent troll, whose pseudonym suggests he/she has trouble even breathing — “just inhale.” Vague repetition of the expression “biased media” doesn’t make the expression real after all these years; or come close to adding honorable stature to the disreputable words and actions of fly-by-night popinjays such as Donald Trump.

Donald grabs attention about every day in some way or other —  but usually of the sort that has been totally covered up to examination by the public in Putin’s Russia. Not going to happen here, although the shift of advertising to electronics is making things difficult where the intelligence of the Free Press in its original form is concerned.

Meanwhile, I turned my attention briefly to a few computer sites and a couple of print newspapers and found for the moment they were discussing an Associated Press story that began: “A Florida judge sanctioned former President Donald Trump and one of his attorneys, ordering them to pay nearly $1 million for filing what he said was a bogus lawsuit against Trump's 2016 rival Hillary Clinton and others.

“In a blistering filing on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks accused Trump of a ‘pattern of abuse of the courts’ for filing frivolous lawsuits for political purposes, which he said ‘undermines the rule of law’ and ‘amounts to obstruction of justice.’

“ ‘Here, we are confronted with a lawsuit that should never have been filed, which was completely frivolous, both factually and legally, and which was brought in bad faith for an improper purpose,’ he wrote. . .

Citing Trump's recent legal action against the Pulitzer Prize board, New York's attorney general, big tech companies and CNN, Judge Middlebrooks described Trump as “a prolific and sophisticated litigant” who uses the courts “to seek revenge on political adversaries.”

Less than a day later, Trump withdrew his lawsuit. More about his “revenge” lawsuit against Hillary can be readily found on the Internet.

Donald labeled the findings of Judge Middlebrooks, who is Black, as “racist.” Hopefully, voters will keep that white supremacy bit in mind when the 2046 mid-term elections roll around.
