A dead body was found in Chimacum Valley on the morning of Sunday, Nov. 3, and law enforcement investigations are already underway.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brett Anglin, a call was made at around 10 a.m. regarding a dead body found in the 2000 block of Beaver Valley Road.
Anglin said responders to the scene determined the subject to be a dead man in his 20s whose body bore several wounds consistent with either a homicide or a suicide.
“Detectives have begun a preliminary investigation, and witnesses have been interviewed at the scene,” Anglin told The Leader shortly after 2 p.m.
Anglin noted that the Washington State Patrol’s forensic analysis is also covering the vehicle that the subject was found next to, and added that further details are still awaiting a full crime lab report and autopsy, as the investigation is expected to remain ongoing “throughout the coming weeks.”
In the meantime, Anglin told The Leader that this death is not currently considered “a community safety concern.”
