Thank you from Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary to all who helped make the third annual Community Bowls and Soup Share a remarkable success.

First, thanks to our host, Finnriver Farm and Cidery. Their space provided the perfect backdrop for this community event.

Next it would not have been possible without the vision of local potter, Darby Huffman of LaughGnome Pottery. He donated more than 200 handcrafted bowls, and recruited Millbrook Clayworks, Center Valley Pottery and Liz Barnes Pottery to also contribute their handiwork.

Crusty Crumb Sourdough Bread donated bread sticks and Manresa Castle donated two very tasty soups. Port Townsend Key/Interact club provided cookies. Soup and bread were free for all. Roots of Resilience provided vouchers available to BIPOC businesses to offset the cost of the soups.

Our greatest gratitude goes to all of the people in our community who came out and participated in this event. Your generous donations for the handcrafted bowls will enable Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary to support the work of Olympic Neighbors, Indigenous Revitalization Project, S’Klallam Foundation, and Goosefoot Farms.

Olympic Neighbors serves people with developmental disabilities and their families by providing safe, affordable housing and staff support so our residents can thrive in the local community.

Longhouse Project/Indigenous Revitalization seeks to rebuild a traditional longhouse and all of the cultural awareness and development that accompanies this process.

Goosefoot Garden at Finnriver Orchard is part of the Foodbank Gardens project and donated about 100 pounds of produce each week for the Tri Area food bank.

S’Klallam Family Foundation works to support families who are struggling in our current economic conditions.

These organizations were chosen to focus attention on the whole story of our Thanksgiving weekend.
