Why are Donald and his supporters making the transition to the Biden administration as difficult as possible, while Biden continues to plead the cause of ”our fellow Americans” — more than 330,000 of whom have died so far from the coronavirus? How many of these citizens, and how many more will die in the winter months ahead — merely because Donald sees no personal need to wear a mask  . . .  and golfs regularly with the likes of Lindsey Graham rather than tending to the job of president for three more weeks?

How precise must the cause-and-effect be before we call it what it is?

Here’s another headline that shows where Donald’s mind is while people are dying and scrambling for food and warmth all around him: “Trump vetoes $740 billion U.S. military bill over clause to rename bases honoring confederates.” — The Independent

“Donald Trump has vetoed the massive annual US military bill outlining the Defense Department’s budget. The lame duck president cited his opposition to a clause in the bill to rechristen 10 military bases named for Confederate figureheads . . .”

It may or not have been somewhere in his self-aggrandizing mind the picture of himself as a main-gate statue at some new Space Corps installation. I did see at some point that he’d floated the idea of naming a military installation after himself.

(More next time.)
