The Hood Canal Bridge will be intermittently closed to traffic from 11 p.m. Thursday, April 8 to 4 a.m. Friday, April 9.
The closure is needed so contractor crews can begin preliminary work associated with a project to keep the bridge in good working order, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. That project is scheduled to begin in late spring or summer.
During the work later this week, the bridge will be closed to all traffic overnight.
The bridge will open to travelers at unscheduled times as work allows, officials said.
The work is weather-dependent, and may be rescheduled if needed.
