Roughriders come out swinging against EJ

The Roughriders came out gunning against East Jefferson in girls varsity tennis last week and when the smoke cleared, Port Angeles was still standing strong after a 6-1 outcome.

PA’s Emma Olsen shot down Maddie Hess of East Jefferson, 6-2, 6-0 in No. 1 singles.

Hannah Reetz of Port Angeles also had a quick-draw win, 6-1, 6-0 over Juniper Cervenka in No. 2 singles.

PA had its sights on a win, as well, in No. 3 singles, and win they did with Ellie Getchell unloading on Caitlyn Boyd, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action, East Jefferson won its only matchup of the day in No. 1 doubles. Sophie Arnovitz and Tiffany Bell rallied to win, 5-7, 6-2, 10-3.

In No. 2 doubles, the terrific twosome of Reagan Critchfield and Liberty Lauer won 6-0, 6-3 for the Roughriders.

Port Angeles also edged EJ in No. 3 doubles, with Eden Critchfield and Angelina Sprague topping Lily Morrison and Sophia Frank 6-0, 6-0.
