Registration starts for summer photo classes at Northwind Art

Posted

Adjust your lens this summer to focus on Northwind Art. Among its multitude of art classes, photography is included in the mix.

The Creative  Digital Photography Series, with Megan Bent, will explore all kinds of techniques related to digital photography.

The five-week course will begin with camera basics, then students will be guided through long exposure, painting with light, double and triple exposures, DIY lens hacks, and other experimental processes. The classes will be online Fridays, June 4, June 11, June 18, June 25, and July 2.

Bent will also be teaching a workshop on Chlorophyll Printing, the process of printing images on leaves with sunshine.

In the three-session course, participants will learn the history of plant-based printing along with how to prepare photos for chlorophyll printing and how to contact print with cyanotypes.

Students will learn to make their own photographic prints onto leaves through photosynthesis. Chlorophyll printing classes will take place virtually on Saturdays, July 10, June 17, and
June 24. Students should register before June 30 to allow enough time to order materials.
