The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 161 calls between Friday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 23. Below are selected reports.

At 9:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, a cannabis shop in the 2000 block of West Sims Way was reportedly burglarized, with someone prying the back door of the business open.

No cars were parked in the lot and it appeared the burglar failed to get inside the store.

A screwdriver was located and seized as evidence, and multiple doors and windows showed signs of an attempted break-in. Law enforcement awaits a damage estimate from the business.

At 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, a potential domestic dispute was reported in the 1900 block of Sherman Street after a woman was heard yelling.

Officers contacted the woman, who denied anything had happened. She had no signs of injury or distress. The officers left.

At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the 400 block of West Sims Way, a man violated his court protection order after contacting a woman in a store.

He approached the woman, thus violating the order, and was arrested for the infraction. The man was later cited and released for health reasons.

At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, city employees reported trees being cut down in the 600 block of Rainier Street.

An unknown suspect had cut two to three young trees along the roadway with a hacksaw-style device. There are no suspects.

At 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, a disturbance was reported at the Water and Madison streets intersection with claims of four suspects seen fighting outside the nearby museum.

The four suspects were seen in the porch section of an eatery in the area when officers contacted them.

The suspects said they were trying to stay out of the wind, however officers noted they could’ve been tampering with the property.

There were no signs of entry or any damage, and the four were released and advised not to return to the property.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the 1600 block of Landes Street, a broken-down RV was blocking both traffic lanes on the roadway. The RV’s owner was trying to fix it and move, but the vehicle was leaking gas and oil. Officers arrived and called the fire department to aid with potential flammable hazards.

The road was blocked for close to an hour until the RV was towed.
