The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 131 calls between Friday, June 3, and Thursday, June 9.  Below are selected reports.

At 10:40 a.m. Friday, June 3, a caller in the 1100 block of Water Street asked for police to attend to an unwanted person in front of a nearby store. A transient woman, likely suffering from mental health issues, was in front of the business screaming and yelling.

On arrival, officers found the woman at the store having a tic attack. Officers spoke to the woman, who agreed to leave the property, but she refused to speak any further with law enforcement.

At 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, a caller in the 2300 block of East Sims Way reported to police that a man wearing a navy-colored sweatshirt was exposing himself to women in a parking lot.

Upon gathering further details, officers determined that no crime had occurred because the man didn’t seem to be flashing anyone on purpose, and none of the bystanders reported being alarmed or affronted by the man. The act appeared to not have been done for sexual gratification or any similar reasons, and reports indicated the man was likely trying to relieve himself outside.

At 5 p.m. Friday, June 3, a caller in the 1500 block of Clay Street submitted an animal bite case to law enforcement. The caller was an Amazon delivery driver, and told police that he was bitten by a dog while on his delivery route.

The driver was bitten in the stomach area, which appeared to have broken the skin. The canine’s owner was identified and they submitted the dog’s vaccination records to police.

At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, a man in the 900 block of Water Street reported a suspicious circumstance to law enforcement relating to two women who had walked into a nearby bar with him.

The man left the bar with one of the women and was unable to find the other woman, and told police that he was concerned she could have been abducted.

The man appeared to be intoxicated, and the other woman was found by the man and woman during his call with law enforcement.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, an officer in the 1900 block of Blaine Street located a man with an outstanding warrant for arrest. The warrant was for failure to appear in court and the man was taken to jail. While at the jail, the man was not accepted into the facility due to medical issues. A judge eventually authorized the man’s release and he was let go.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, an officer in the 1900 block of Sherman Street responded to what sounded like a fight nearby. The officer contacted two individuals, a man and woman, who appeared to be the source of the commotion.

After talking with both parties, the woman admitted to throwing her items around, and it didn’t appear that the fight had gotten physical between the two. The man agreed to leave the residence for a while so both of them could cool down, and resources were discussed with both individuals.

At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4,
in the 500 block of Q Street, officers responded to a noise complaint. The caller told law enforcement that loud noises were heard that sounded like the booming sounds that M-80 fireworks make, or possibly gunshots. The source of the sound was not located and the officers left.
