The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 127 calls between Wednesday, July 6, and Thursday, July 14. Below are selected reports.

At 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, a possible suicide attempt was reported in the 400 block of 12th Street at the nearby park-and-ride. A 64-year-old man appeared to be suicidal and had been drinking.

The man had a history of previous suicidal tendencies. Officers arrived in the area and the man was transported to Jefferson Healthcare’s emergency room.

At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at a grocery store in the 500 block of Sheridan Street, a caller reported two men that appeared to be stealing something underneath a vehicle in the parking lot.

Officers arrived at the lot and spoke with the men. It was confirmed that they were attempting to replace a fuel pump in the vehicle and the car belonged to one of them.

At 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, a resident in the 500 block of Polk Street told law enforcement that an electric scooter had been taken from their property the day before. They said their daughter saw the same scooter in someone’s vehicle in the Uptown District and asked the vehicle’s owner to get it back.

They obliged and handed it over, but the scooter was damaged and still missing its charger.

At 8:40 a.m. Thursday, July 7, in the 500 block of Quincy Street, a verbal dispute was reported to police. A man and woman were having an argument and appeared to be drunk. The two left in a pink Chevrolet vehicle shortly after. Officers arrived at the scene to check out the situation, but the pink car was gone.

At 12:15 p.m. Friday, July 8, a man in the 1100 block of V Street reported a fraudulent cellular account that had been opened in his name. Officers spoke with the man, who said that the account had been opened in February through Verizon Wireless.

The man needed a case number from police in order for Verizon to investigate the situation and there are no known suspects.

At 12:20 p.m. Friday, July 8, a theft was reported in the 2000 block of 31st Street, and officers noted multiple traffic cones and marking flags taken from the roadway. Three cones — worth $60 dollars in total — were likely taken from the spot overnight. There are no suspects.

At 5:35 p.m. Friday, July 8, in the 2000 block of Victoria Avenue, a resident reported a wounded deer in their front yard. The deer was gravely wounded and an officer dispatched it.
