The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 140 calls between Friday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 6.  Below are selected reports.

At 8:43 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, a caller in the 2000 block of Towne Point said someone was on their front porch, and that no one should be outside of their home. They could hear the person walking around the outside of the house. Officers arrived after the caller had spoken with a neighbor, who said someone had been offering to shovel snow in the neighborhood. The person with the shovel left.

At 3:12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, a caller in the 2300 block of East Sims Way said that someone had placed firecrackers on the mat in front on an ATM machine. The caller stepped on the mat, and the fireworks went off. They stated that their ears were ringing.

At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, a man in the 1400 block of 23rd Street said two buck deer were fighting and crashing into buildings, and it appeared that their antlers were stuck together. Officers responded but could not locate the animals.

At 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, a caller in the 500 block of Hendricks Street complained that loud music and talking were coming from a nearby trailer. There was a girl lying outside in the snow, eating blackberries. An officer contacted the residence and asked the folks to turn the music down.

At 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, the caller who’d complained about the party from an earlier call said they were not happy with the police response to the situation. Two flat-bed trucks were leaving the party property, and the caller wanted the police to track them down. When officers spoke to a neighbor about the situation, the neighbor said the music was at an acceptable volume, and that it was their opinion the caller had a bit of an alcohol problem.

At 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, a caller in the vicinity of Calhoun and Jefferson streets reported hearing six or seven gunshots, possibly from a neighbor. Officers arrived but nothing was seen or heard.
