The Port Townsend Pickleball club is set to host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the addition of three pickleball courts at the Mountain View Commons on Blaine Street.
After raising $40,000 to build three permanent courts on the south end of the Mountain View Commons, the local club will host a grand opening for the achievement.
The event is from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 at the courts and participants will be treated to a pickleball demonstration, light refreshments, games, and a raffle.
With 200-plus members among the local club, the meteoric rise of the paddle sport continues as local club leaders hope the three new courts encourage more community members to join in on the fun.
